Day 1 – Arrival to Rosia Montana
We will transport you from one of Cluj (Ro) Debrecen (Hu) or Budapest (Hu) airport to Rosia Montana and accustom you with our friendly hosts at Casa Petri.
Day 2 – Historical Center of Roșia Montană
On the first day in Rosia Montana, we discover by foot the multiple cultures and communities that have influenced the development of Rosia Montana, being one of the reason why it was proposed as UNESCO heritage site. We will observe how each ruler that has come to exploit gold from Rosia Montana has left a bit of culture heritage behind. A multicultural day to say the least!

Day 3 – tour of the lakes and sightseeing around Rosia Montana village
In the past, people have created lakes in order to have a source of water for the times of drought. These were crucial for the good running of the gold mills. On this day, we will walk around 3 such beautiful lakes and present you the history and the beautiful sights that surround them. From the Sulei peak we can admire the breathtaking Apuseni Mountains!

Day 4 – The golden day – tour gold mines galleries from 3 different eras
After enjoying a healthy breakfast, we take a tour 200 steps underground in the roman gold galleries that are over 2000 years old. We continue our tour to a Habsburg gallery. We end our gold-rush tour, admiring the sunset from a goldmine gallery opened in the communist time. We end the day with a documentary night about the history that surrounds all that has been seen on the day in the picturesque garden of Casa Petri

Day 5 – Geamăna, The sunken village
On our 4th day in Rosia Montana we make our way to Geamana, a village that was once full of life but it has slowly been turned into a lake of waste from the copper quarry Roșia Poieni. We will cycle around the lake and present the history of this tragic land.

Day 6 – Steam train and copper quarry
On our 5th day in the eco-destination Rosia Montana we will admire the beauty of the Apuseni Mountains on a steam train. Used before to transport the ore from the mines and quarries, the train has been converted for touristic use. On our way back, we will visit the Rosia Poieni copper quarry on bikes, the biggest of its kind in Europe at the time when it was open.

Day 7 – Natural reservation Detunata
We make our way to a few remote villages around the natural reservation Detunata. Detunata, is a rock formation made out of basalt with intriguing legends and stories. We will stop for delicious pies at the ethnographic museum Fefeleaga. We will also stop by the Buciumanilor museum which is a snapshot of 1900`s Romania.

|Making a Booking||
Making a Booking:
To make a booking you must add to basket the desire product. You have two payment options: a 25% deposit for each participant or payment in full.
In the case you would like to personalise your tour – please fill in the form on the bottom of this page and we will send you an offer on your email address within 24 hours with the price. Once, you agree with the offer presented by us, you will be sent a invoice for 50% of the amount or payment in full. Your booking is only confirmed once you have paid your deposit.
After paying your deposit, you will receive an invoice showing you any remaining balance you might have and the due date,which is usually 8 weeks before your trip. If your trip is in less than 8 weeks, a full payment would be required to secure your holiday.
If your balance is not paid on time we may have to cancel your booking and retain the relevant cancellation charges.
In the case of needing to cancel your holiday please could you will need to call or email us with the name and date of your trip and the group size.
Depending on how far in advance you cancel you will be entitled to the following refund:
· 56 days or more before the departure date: you will forfeit 25% of your holidays value
· more than 28 days and less than 56 days: a 50% refund of the holiday price will be made;
· less than 28 days before the departure date: no refund will be given;
